IBM Changes to Manufacturing for Power and Storage

IBM manufacturing will be going through a transition in April and will not build or ship any Power servers or Storage during the month of April due to this transition. If you have end users that require Power or Storage in April or early May please get them to order in March. We can price and place orders in April but nothing will ship.

IBM Power Sweep the Floor Promotion for 1H 2025

IBM has re-announced the Sweep the Floor promotion to the Americas Geography effective February 3, 2025. This promotion offers an additional upfront margin on eligible Power10 Scale-out Value Seller transactions when replacing POWER7, POWER8 and/or POWER9 systems.

The intent of the promotion is to help move POWER7, POWER8 and POWER9 clients to Power 10. IBM sales teams and Business Partners should work together to find ways to use the increased margin to help clients with challenges they have moving to Power 10, such as offsetting the cost of migration services or costs of testing older code on Power10 and lowering the price to the customer.

Business Partners work with your Distributors to certify your eligibility for this promotion and complete the requirements to receive the promotional margin.

IBM has plans to have limited customer shipping capability in April due to an IT transition. Shipments will be focused on backlog recovery in Week 1 only. Orders received after March 10 for High End products and March 17th for Scale-out products will be scheduled to ship in May/June once transition is complete. Any orders with April or May instill requirements should be firmed/shipped in March prior to the transition.

The new build-to-order model is also discussed along with shipping lead times for High Velocity and High-End products. Please make sure all orders are placed in time for shipment in March should you need an April or May install.

IBM Storage 1Q Overdrive Pricing Offer

Effective Monday Feb. 24, New Storage Overdrive promotion increases the Value Seller Discount for Q1’25 Storage orders. Opportunities must not yet be in IBM’s Q1 Call and must be in the Select Territory. High-end orders must be placed by March 10th and Low-end orders must be placed by March 17th in order to ensure a shipment by March 31st.

IBM Storage Announces New Flash C200

IBM Storage FlashSystem C200 is a virtualized, software-defined, high-capacity and energy-efficient storage solution designed for applications that don’t require ultra-low latency but can benefit from significant performance improvements over disk solutions and considerable operating cost savings. Packaged in a 2U form factor, it includes twenty-four 46TB raw FlashCore Module NVMe drives providing 1.1PB raw and up to 2.3PB effective storage capacity.

IBM Storage FlashSystem C200 control enclosures feature:
Two node canisters, each with two 8-core processors and 128 GB memory to deliver a system total of 256GB
Twenty-four 46TB raw FlashCore Module NVMe drives, delivering 1.1PB raw and up to 2.3PB effective capacity
Eight (four per canister) 10 Gb Ethernet ports standard for 10 Gb iSCSI connectivity
