IBM Power Sweep the Floor Promotion for 1H 2025
IBM has re-announced the Sweep the Floor promotion to the Americas Geography effective February 3, 2025. This promotion offers an additional upfront margin on eligible Power10 Scale-out Value Seller transactions when replacing POWER7, POWER8 and/or POWER9 systems.
The intent of the promotion is to help move POWER7, POWER8 and POWER9 clients to Power 10. IBM sales teams and Business Partners should work together to find ways to use the increased margin to help clients with challenges they have moving to Power 10, such as offsetting the cost of migration services or costs of testing older code on Power10 and lowering the price to the customer.
Business Partners work with your Distributors to certify your eligibility for this promotion and complete the requirements to receive the promotional margin.

Receive a Power E1080, E1050 or S1024 core activation at no charge for every 2 cores of POWER8/9 removed.
• Designed for new Power10 system purchases replacing installed POWER8 or POWER9 systems
• Move static or mobile activations from any POWER8/9 High-end or Midrange system to any supported Power10 system with Capacity on Demand
• Minimum Power10 system activations must be purchased with this offering
• Minimums are 16 activations on E1080 and 1 socket of activations on E1050/S1024.
• Client must sign a Capacity Reset Agreement (Z126-6850 for POWER8 or i126-9862 for POWER9) and de-activate exchanged cores or dispose of POWER8/9 system within 90 days of the installation of the Power10 system.

2Q Power Trade-in Program Enhancement on New 1050 or 1080 Servers
Effective April 1, 2025, IBM has announced a 2Q Power Trade-in Program enhancement when purchasing a new 1050 or 1080 server in 2Q. End users of IBM Business partners can receive a 4X trade-in payment on replaced (old) machines when purchasing a new IBM 9080-HEX or a new 9043-MRX server in 2Q of 2025. IBM will also increase the trade-in allowance on these two servers by 4X.
• IBM must receive the firm order for the new 1080 or 1050 server(s) on or after April 1, 2025.
• The orders must be invoiced to the Distributor by IBM, on or before June 30, 2025.
• The 4X enhancement is limited to these two servers.
• When purchasing any other Power server, the trade in Value and Allowance do not change.
• The terms and conditions of the trade-in program remain the same for qualification and claims processing.
Please read the program guide, available on Seismic, to understand both the Business Partner and End User responsibilities to earn any trade-in payment.
Details:
• Trade-in allowance level for 1050 goes to $32K (4 x $8K) and on 1080 it goes to $80K (4 x $20K) per new server.
• The trade in value on any eligible old server also increases 4X.
• Any combination of old servers can be traded in, up to the maximum trade in allowance (limit) on the new 1050 or 1080.
• IBM will pay the lessor of the two amounts, the trade-in value on the old machines or trade-in allowance on the new machines.
• Our trade-in program is only for business partner transactions with firm orders placed and shipped in 2Q.
• If an IBM Rep works with a Business Partner to include this offer in a deal, please make sure they have read the program guide posted on Seismic.
• Be aware of all deadlines to submit the new purchase claim request, and to return the old machines to IBM, in order to earn the rebate or credit on account.

2Q Firm Order Monthly Guidance
IBM's revised firm order guidance and shipping expectations that have been in place for the past year, continue in 2Q. In addition, as IBM manufacturing works through a significant transition in April and early May, Storage products will not ship during this time. Firms orders received during April will be help until the completion of the transition and will ship in early May. As we progress further into 2Q, please take note of the last firm order dates below to ensure that your order will ship according to client expectations. Beyond these deadlines, orders will ship on a ""best efforts"" basis. Learn more.
