IBM is announcing the following:
• Withdrawal from marketing and change in service level for IBM i 7.4 and associated licensed program products.
• Withdrawal from service for Db2 Web Query products.
• Withdrawal from marketing and service for Helvetica fonts in the IBM i portfolio.
• Withdrawal from marketing for the feature code for the TechXchange 2025 event pass for Power. The last day to buy tickets for IBM TechXchange Conference 2025 will be on 30 September 2025.

IBM Annual Price Harmonization

IBM is initiating its annual price harmonization, with updated pricing set to take effect on January 1, 2026. This announcement is being shared internally today and will be communicated to our business partners via Seismic (links coming soon).
We are not announcing this on the external IBM Announcements page. You are permitted to share with your clients now to provide the necessary time they need for hardware and software purchases to be closed this year at lower prices.
• Power - 6%
• PowerVS - 2%
• IBM i SW - 10%
• TLS Maintenance: 6%; Non-Expert Care offerings 6%; Avg Power (Pre P10): 10%

Availability of Same Serial MES Upgrade

Availability of Same Serial MES Upgrade from the E1080 to the E1180 is now in eConfig (GA is available on 8/29). This offers clients a smoother migration path towards Power11 systems and takes advantage of the full stack innovation in Power11. This is the only path for IBM i (P30 tier) clients to retain their investments in non-expiring IBM i entitlements on the IBM Power11, including 5250 EE. In addition, the serial number preserving model upgrades provides the following benefits:

- Retain select memory and I/O features
- Conversion credits for activations
- Retain existing software and services entitlements
- Eliminates need to write off the original asset
- Preserve warranty/maintenance contracts

IBM Price Harmonization Effective January 1, 2026 Storage

IBM regularly reviews and adjusts its pricing strategy in response to inflation and other macroeconomic factors. These updates are designed to ensure long-term stability and consistency, while continuing to support the success of our clients and partners.

The 2026 IBM General Price Harmonization will take effect on 1 January 2026. Until then, the current pricing will remain in place through the end of this year.

Here’s what’s changing:
– IBM Storage: 6% increase across the portfolio, excluding Flash (Refresh coming 1Q2026), SAN + Ready Nodes (OEM, highly elastic), LTO Tape (OEM price balance), Media
– Technology Lifecycle Services: 6% increase across Non-Expert Care offerings and Avg Z; 7% on Avg Storage; 10% on Avg Power (Pre P10)
